A steampunk book, published in 1974, before the term steampunk was coined. Owing a great deal to the stories of his compatriot Jules Verne, Tardi fashions a world of submarines, flying machines and misanthropic foes. Unique amongst Tardi’s other work is the woodcut style of the drawings, apparently so time consuming that he never used this approach again. An interesting early book from Tardi and is now finally available in an english translation.
